The purpose of this activity is to give participants a diagnostic and therapeutic update in the fields of
gastroenterology and hepatology.
1. Review new insights in eosinophilic esophagitis

3. Identify the evolving paradigm of the irritable bowel syndrome
4. Describe the emerging role of probiotics in GI disorders
5. Identify the “silent” celiac disease epidemic
6. Utilize new IBD diagnostic testing/therapies
7. Review new HBV/HCV therapies
8. Describe new Barrett’s esophagus therapeutic options
9. Identify the spectrum of extraesophageal GERD
10. Discuss new insights/therapeutic options for acute/chronic diverticulitis
11. Review state-of-the-art colorectal cancer screening options/controversies
12. Describe the current therapeutic approach to esophageal varices
13. Identify new acute /chronic pancreatitis insights
14. Discuss the new aggressive form of Clostridium difficile toxin colitis
