Faculty

Edward M. Mendoza, MD, MBA, CPE, FAAN, FACPE
Dr. Edward M. Mendoza is an independent contractor and senior Physician Consultant of the Mendoza group. He has more than 29 years of experience in health care as a physician and consultant. He also has a Neurology private practice. Dr. Mendoza’s consulting services include physician training, coder and case manager education, physician liaison training, clinical documentation quality reviews, clinical pathway development, and clinical cost management. Other present consulting experience is as a part time Vice President of Medical Affairs (Medical Director) at a tertiary care facility. He also assists with DRG and CPT proper coding projects and educational programs for HIM, UM, and QA personnel.

Dr Mendoza is board certified in Internal Medicine, Neurology, and Medical Management. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physician Executives and the American Academy of Neurology. He is a Certified Physician Executive. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science, received his Doctor of Medicine from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta and his Masters of Business Administration from the Executive Program of Georgia State University in Atlanta.

Dr. Mendoza is widely published in the medical literature including several books: International Healthcare, A Framework for Comparing National Health Care Systems, 3rd edition and Mastering the Reimbursement Process, 2nd Edition. He has been recognized in Modern Healthcare for his international expertise. He has spoken at numerous seminars, both nationally and internationally on clinical, international health care, and managed care topics. He has prepared and taught “Financing International Health Care Systems, Comparative International Health Care Systems, and Managed Care for Public Health” for the school of Public Health, Morehouse School of Medicine.

Shashidhar H. Kori, M.D.
Dr Kori is Vice President of Clinical development at MAP Pharmaceuticals since July 2007. He has more than 30 years of clinical and research in Neurosciences. Prior to Joining MAP he was Senior Director of Clinical Development at GlaxoSmithKline. In this role, Dr. Kori oversaw the design and execution of clinical studies and coordinated responses to FDA for migraine and pain products in development. In addition, he served as liaison to the external scientific and medical community, including leading headache specialists, participated in the development of new chemical entities and managed R&D support for innovative products. Dr Kori has 24 years of Academic Medicine experience at major universities in the country( Sloan kettering Cancer Center, NY, Case Western Reserve U in Cleveland, Moffitt Cancer Center, and Duke University), with extensive experience in clinical patient care( Founded and Directed several major Pain Programs in the country), Teaching( voted Best Teacher of the Year 4 times ), Research( more than 90 publications, several grants, described two new syndromes and devised a new questionnaire), and Administration( Director of Residency Program, Vice Chairman of a department, Director of Several Clinical Programs, Chief of a Dept ). He also served as President or Borad of Director or Committee Chair of several national professional societies (AAN 11,000 members, ASN 600 members, AAPI 9,000 members), Chaired several national professional seminars and symposia. He has delivered invited lectures in more than a dozen countries, was Visiting Professor at 10 universities, was on Editorial Board or Medical Reviewer for 7 professional journals, and had several media exposures ( appeared in several national TV programs, Radio programs and quoted in several national publications ).
