Ramon Solhkhah, MD

Ramon Solhkhah, MD, is the current Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. He is an attending psychiatrist of all five hospitals in the Meridian Health System and is also the Corporate Medical Director of Meridian Behavioral Health Services. He is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. Additionally, he maintains a private psychiatry practice in New York, NY and Neptune, NJ.

Dr. Solhkhah received his undergraduate degree from University of Nevada-Reno in Reno, NV, and his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. After spending two years as a general surgery resident in the Bronx, NY area, Dr. Solhkhah changed his focus to psychiatry and completed his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry residency at Harvard Medical School. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Solhkhah returned to New York, where he completed a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at New York University.

Dr. Solhkhah is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and other professional organizations. He has been an ad hoc reviewer of several medical journals such as The American Journal of Addiction and Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychopharmacology. He has participated in numerous clinical trials in the field of psychiatry and has authored many journal articles, book chapters, and abstracts. He has presented his work at nationally recognized congresses. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, and is board eligible in Psychosomatic Medicine.
