Sam J. Marzo, MD

Dr. Sam J. Marzo attended Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine (SSOM) from 1987-1991. He then completed a 5-year Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Residency at Loyola University Health System from 1991-1996.

After completing a one-year Neurotology Fellowship at Vanderbilt University from 1996-1997, he rejoined Loyola. He was residency program director from 2005-2015 and became Chairman of the Department on July 1, 2015.

He has a very busy clinical practice that includes all facets of Otology, Neurotology, and Lateral Skull Base Surgery. He has a particular interest treatment of hearing loss and he has implanted many patients with ossicular prostheses, bone-anchored hearing systems, cochlear implants, and active middle ear implants.

He is also very involved in clinical and translational research, medical and surgical education, and outreach. Additionally, with the recent departure of the Dean of the SSOM, he was named interim dean on January 1, 2019.
