ITINERARY

Sailing the Danube in mid-December transforms the classic river route into a tour of Central Europe’s most atmospheric holiday traditions. This 7-night itinerary begins with an overnight in Budapest, providing ample time to explore the distinct characters of Buda and Pest before moving on to the intimate streets of Bratislava. A major highlight is Vienna, where imperial architecture provides a dramatic backdrop for some of the region's most famous Christmas markets. The journey continues through the UNESCO-listed Wachau Valley to the baroque splendor of Melk Abbey, followed by a strategic stop in Linz that opens the door to Salzburg. The voyage concludes in the three-river city of Passau. Traveling aboard the AmaMagna, which is twice the width of traditional river vessels, ensures you have exceptional personal space and dining options—a significant advantage when winter temperatures make the ship’s interior a primary destination in itself.
