Faculty
Ross W. Nash, DDS
Cosmetic & General Dentistry

Dr. Ross W. Nash earned his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina in Textile Engineering in 1970. He worked as an engineer before entering dental school in 1974 at the University Of North Carolina School Of Dentistry, Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Nash graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1978 and has focused his general practice in the area of cosmetic and esthetic dentistry since 1980.

A leader in the area of general and cosmetic dentistry since 1982, Dr. Nash has helped revolutionize materials used by dentists across the country today. As a dental educator, dental materials consultant and author he is recognized internationally for his clinical and artistic expertise and his willingness to share his knowledge with others. Dr. Nash has also been directly responsible for the invention of dental instruments and dental materials. He is a regular keynote speaker for dental meetings throughout the United States and abroad. His smiles have won awards and have graced the covers of many dental publications.

Dr. Nash enjoys dental photography and has compiled over five million images of actual cases he has performed. He photographs every case for office records, patient communication and professional presentations. Several dental companies have used his images for technique brochures and marketing material (magazine articles and production description illustrations).

Dr. Nash provides continuing education courses at New York University School of Dentistry, and has been a faculty member at Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Georgia and Baylor University in Texas. He is founder and director of the Nash Institute for Dental Learning, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

His professional memberships include: The American Dental Association, NC Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Charlotte Dental Society. He is a diplomat for the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry and a member of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics. Of the nearly 8000 American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry members worldwide, Dr. Nash is one of only 60 who have achieved the exclusive level of Accredited Fellow and the only one in North or South Carolina.

In striving for excellence in esthetic and restorative dentistry, he has become a strong advocate for continuing education; completing over 3000 hours of personal credits and teaching more than 6000 hours on various topics in Cosmetic Dentistry in the United States, Europe, Canada, Asia, Australia and South America. Professional interests also include writing for several dental journals and newsletters. He has been an editor for the monthly dental publications, and editorial advisor to numerous other dental publications. He is on the editorial board of “New Beauty” magazine, a national consumer magazine focused on health and beauty. Dr. Nash has been listed as a top dental educator and presenter by Dentistry Today for the eight years.

Dr. Nash’s excitement towards dentistry is as great today as the day he graduated dental school. The cosmetic scope of dentistry opens new windows for both patient and dental professionals in esthetic and restorative dentistry. The ever-constant improvement of materials, techniques, and technology make dentistry a perpetual challenge. He derives great personal and professional satisfaction from this continued growth and views dentistry as a very important part of health care today.

Ports of Call
Southampton (London), England (Embark) - "Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford." Samuel Johnson's famous words are as true today as when he spoke them. A visitor to London could fill a month with fascinating people, art, music, late-night dancing, fabulous shopping, an endless array of pubs and first rate meals. Tourists should take in Victoria Station, the beauty of Westminster Abbey, Parliament, and the pomp of Buckingham Palace. And then there are the "Elgin Marbles" at the British Museum and the Crown Jewels in the Tower of London. Or visit Sherlock Holmes' HQ on Baker Street (you know the address). After all that, make what might be the most important stop of all: grab a pint at one of the many corner pubs that's been hosting revelers since before America was a nation. Definitely a place to "take in," not just "pass through."

From London you'll transfer from Southampton after your cruise conference.
Post-Cruise Hotel Packages in London Port tips from our blog
Copenhagen, Denmark - Denmark's capital is sophisticated, saucy and friendly. Stroll the fairytale world of Tivoli Gardens to take in bright lights, castles that out-Disney Disney. See the city's 200- year-old Royal Palace, the lively Old Harbor - Hans Christian Andersen lived here. Salute the Little Mermaid, symbol of this light-hearted city.
Fredericia, Denmark - Right on the Jutland peninsula is the striking town of Fredericia, a historic Danish military stronghold founded by Frederick III in 1650. Fortified city walls, historic monuments, and military remnants abound throughout the town, and it still serves as a major barracks for Telegrafregimentet, the Royal Danish Army's Signals Regiment. But its most current claim to fame is its laidback, seaside vibe with the best in Danish history and culture to take in.
Helsingborg, Sweden - Helsingborg- Near the southern tip of Sweden, and a mere ferry trip away from Copenhagen, Helsingborg has something for everyone. You can explore the streets and alleyways, discover interesting architecture, enticing shops, and restaurants. You can absorb the atmosphere of a city with a continental feel, where for hundreds of years the most important influence has been the sea. Entertainment or outdoor activities, culture or education - Helsingborg is a city of opportunity, offering excellent conference facilities and a thriving commercial community. It is also a center of transport and trade, and a true international crossroads.
Oslo, Norway - At the head of Oslofjord, Norway's handsome capital awaits. Inspect Thor Heyerdahl's raft Kon Tiki. Watch the changing of the palace guard. Ferry to the open-air Folke Museum with its 12th-century stave church.
Skagen, Denmark - Skagen is home to clear waters and beautiful white sand beaches. Home to Denmark's main fishing port and also thriving tourist industry, the town attracts 2 million people annually. The town offers a variety of quaint villages, churches, monuments and nature, so Skagen has something for everybody.
Amsterdam, The Netherlands (Debark) - Amsterdam is a great city to discover the charms of northern Europe. The graceful canals of its central district are lined with beautiful gabled houses. It's many, grand art museums display masterpieces of Rembrandt and Vermeer and the largest collection of Van Gogh's work is found here. Fine food is also easy to find along with ample opportunities for shopping (including excellent vintage finds). This great city is well worth a day or two's stay after your cruise.

TravelSafe.comPlease visit TravelSafe.com for travel insurance information.

Cruise Line cancellation policies are strictly enforced. For that reason, we urge all of our travelers to carefully consider whether travel insurance is a good value for them.

Certainly, if you have reason to think that "something might come up" that might force you to cancel, travel insurance is worth the cost of the premium. Examples we've seen in the past include ill or frail family members and changes in employment causing relocation.

If travel insurance is the right choice for you, we recommend TravelSafe. To visit their site and explore your options click here or on the link above. The cruise lines also offer travel insurance and we'd be happy to help you go that route if you'd prefer.
