Shelley is Senior Legal Counsel in health regulation in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where she oversees complex legal matters. She has diverse experience with establishing and developing investigative systems and procedures for sexual misconduct, conducting training on trauma-informed and compassionate practices, and as an in-house subject matter expert for sexual misconduct complaints.
She often speaks internationally on the topic of legal issues in complaints, investigations and sexual misconduct, and trains leaders on trauma-informed approaches, as well as bullying and harassment issues. She is a mentor to law students for the Canadian Bar Association, a forensic advisor for Forensic Guardians International Consulting Inc., and member of the Education Planning Committee with the Canadian Network of Agencies for Regulation.
In addition to her JD, Shelley holds a BA in Criminology, (First Class Honours) and a certificate in Human Rights Law for Education Professionals, as well as certification and experience as a restorative justice facilitator.
