Dr. Dennis Andrade serves as the Associate Program Director for the Family Medicine Residency Program at Kaiser Permanente San Diego. With over 20 years of experience teaching and mentoring medical students and resident physicians, he manages clinical rotations across various specialties, including surgery, emergency medicine, office procedures, and ultrasound. Dr. Andrade also founded the Southern California Regional Global Health Program for Kaiser Permanente resident physicians, leading numerous international medical trips to Peru, Thailand, Jamaica, Fiji, Kenya, and Mexico.

In addition to his leadership role, Dr. Andrade maintains an active clinical practice at Kaiser Permanente, where he supervises the Minor Surgery Clinic. He is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine at the University of California, San Diego where he precepts medical students. Dr. Andrade has also presented at national medical conferences on a variety of topics, including medical volunteerism abroad, travel medicine, and the use of ultrasound in primary care. His expertise also includes advanced training in trauma management and wilderness medicine.

Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Andrade is passionate about travel, exploring diverse cultures, and enjoys running half-marathons, hiking, and photography.

After receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Boston College, Robert L. Fogerty received his MD and MPH degrees from Northwestern University and completed training in Internal Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital. In 2011, he joined the Yale faculty as a founding member of the Academic Hospitalist Program. His academic interests include safety and quality of care in the inpatient setting and cost-effective care. Publications include the Journal of Hospital Medicine, JAMA Internal Medicine, and The New England Journal of Medicine.

He is the Co-Founder and Past-President of the Society of Hospital Medicine Connecticut Chapter. He also served as the Co-Director of the Future Leaders and VITAL training programs for the High Value Practice Academic Alliance (HVPAA) and is the Co-Founder and a Steering Committee Member of the Hospital Capacity Management Consortium, for which he previously served as Steering Committee Chair.

In his current role as Senior Medical Director, Clinical Leadership, Dr. Fogerty reports to the Chief Medical Officer and works to support medical directors across multiple clinical disciplines in clinical operations, professional development, and corporate compliance.

For a genuine sense of the old city, step away from the main thoroughfares and explore the quiet stone-paved alleys. A worthwhile challenge is the climb up the historic “99 Steps” (actually 103) for rewarding views over the harbor.

For many, the highlight of St. Thomas is escaping the city bustle.
