PORTS OF CALL

Honolulu (Oahu) - Honolulu is an experience worth savoring before you sail and after you return. Base yourself in vibrant Waikīkī for sunrise swims and postcard views of Diamond Head, then wander downtown to see ʻIolani Palace, the only royal residence on U.S. soil, and the world-class collections of the Bishop Museum. Honor history at Pearl Harbor’s memorials, browse Kakaʻako’s street-art alleys and indie boutiques, and finish with sunset poke bowls on Ala Moana Beach. Whether you arrive early or linger post-cruise, Honolulu’s fusion of urban energy, surf culture and lush Hawaiian scenery turns a round-trip sailing into the perfect excuse for extra island time.

Kailua-Kona (Island of Hawaii) - Coffee-rich breezes mingle with salty trade winds along Hawaiʻi Island’s Kona coast, where Kailua-Kona anchors a landscape of black lava, royal landmarks and cobalt-blue water. Sip estate-grown Kona coffee where Hualālai’s misty slopes meet macadamia orchards, then wander Aliʻi Drive past Huliheʻe Palace and Mokuaikaua Church, echoes of the Hawaiian Kingdom. South at Kealakekua Bay, a white obelisk marks Captain Cook’s final landfall amid jewel-bright coral, while nearby Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau protects an ancient refuge of peace. Offshore, record marlin challenge anglers during the Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament, and night dives reveal manta rays pirouetting under the stars. Bathed in steady sunshine and calm seas, Kailua-Kona pairs rich history and world-class ocean adventure in one irresistible stretch of coast.

Hilo (Island of Hawaii) - Hilo drapes itself along a crescent bay of black-lava rock and orchids, where rain showers turn streets into living arboretums and Mauna Kea’s snow-tipped summit rises unexpectedly above the palms. Stroll Banyan Drive’s century-old giants to Liliʻuokalani Gardens, shop the open-air farmers market for rambutan and fresh-ground Kona coffee, then venture a little farther: Rainbow and ʻAkaka Falls plunge through emerald gulches, while Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park rumbles with steaming vents and rivers of new earth. From lush jungles to lunar lava fields (even winter stargazing atop Mauna Kea) Hilo packs nearly every ecosystem of the Big Island into one rain-washed getaway.

Kahului (Maui) - Kahului, Maui’s bustling harbor, is your gateway to the island’s postcard contrasts. Rust-red volcanic peaks, rainforest waterfalls and sweeping sugar-white beaches. Sunrise atop Haleakalā feels like standing on Mars above the clouds, while a meandering drive along the Road to Hāna reveals bamboo groves, rainbow eucalyptus and hidden black-sand coves. History lives in nearby Lāhainā, a former whaling port turned art town, and world-class fairways unfurl beside breaching humpbacks in winter. Whether you’re tasting farm-to-table poke, paddling an outrigger canoe or sinking your toes into Kaʻanapali’s golden sand, Kahului is an unforgettable stop on a Hawaii cruise.

Nawiliwili (Kauai) - Verdant ridges ring compact Nawiliwili Harbor, gateway to Kaua‘i—the “Garden Isle,” where frequent showers paint every slope in a dozen shades of green. Westward, Waimea Canyon drops in rust-and-jade layers like a tropical Grand Canyon, while catamarans and helicopters trace the sheer, roadless walls of the Nāpali Coast, ribbed with hidden valleys once linked by legendary Menehune trails. Paddle up the Wailua River to fern-draped grottoes, watch sea turtles cruise along Poʻipū’s golden crescents, or linger among wild ginger and hibiscus in Kōkeʻe’s upland forests. Nowhere else in Hawai‘i packs so much waterfall-fed drama into such a compact, rain-lush island.

Napali Coast - Nāpali Coast cruising feels like gliding past a lost world: 4,000-foot fluted cliffs streaked with waterfalls, emerald valleys reachable only by ancient footpaths, and sea caves hollowed by turquoise swells. As the afternoon sun swings west, folds of lava glow gold and crimson, spinner dolphins arc in the ship’s wake, and—with luck—winter humpbacks breach against a horizon untouched by roads or towns. Every slow mile offers another cathedral-steep ridge or ribbon-thin cascade, turning your transit between islands into a cinematic parade of wild Hawaii.

Allianz Travel Insurance plans can provide you benefits and professional support when a covered situation comes up before or during your trip. The following examples may qualify for benefits:

  • Cancelling your trip after unexpectedly becoming too sick to travel
  • Taking care of a sick or injured traveling companion
  • Having to end your trip early due to a family emergency
  • Dealing with a flight delay or cancellation
  • Needing to buy personal items if your luggage is lost or stolen
  • Missing your cruise departure after a covered flight delay

You also can contact our travel protection partner Allianz Global Assistance’s 24/7, award-winning customer service for on-the-go assistance with issues like a medical emergency, replacing your lost passport, or making reservations around the world. What Can Travel Insurance Help Protect?

Allianz Travel Insurance plans can protect you before and during your trip—keeping you, your loved ones, and your travel budget safer. Benefits vary by plan, and these are brief descriptions. Please read your plan documents for details.

TRIP CANCELLATION

Reimburses your prepaid, non-refundable travel expenses if you need to cancel your trip due to a covered reason, such as you, a family member, or traveling companion experiencing a covered illness or injury. Examples include:

  • A doctor says you or a traveling companion is too sick to fly
  • Your parent or child requires hospitalization
  • You need to attend the birth of a family member’s child
  • You have a traffic accident (not breakdown) on the way to the airport
  • A storm shuts down your airport for 24 hours or more

TRIP INTERRUPTION

Reimburses your unused, non-refundable travel expenses and increased transportation costs during your trip if you have to return home early due to a covered reason, for instance when a family member has a qualifying medical emergency and needs your care. Examples include:

  • You have a covered illness or injury and a doctor says you must return home
  • A family member has a qualifying injury and needs your care
  • A covered emergency, like a fire or flood, makes your home uninhabitable

TRAVEL DELAY

If you have a covered delay while traveling, travel insurance can reimburse you for meals, accommodations, and transportation expenses when your trip is delayed for a minimum number of consecutive hours for a covered reason. Minimum number of hours varies by plan.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE

Reimburses your expenses related to covered medical and dental emergencies* that might occur on your trip. This benefit can be especially helpful if you have a covered emergency outside the United States, as most health insurance policies won’t cover you outside the country. Examples include:

  • You slip and break your ankle while sightseeing
  • You get food poisoning while sampling the local cuisine
  • You lose a filling and need immediate dental treatment*

*A sublimit and maximum apply for this benefit. Check your plan documents for details.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION

Arranges and pays for medically necessary transportation following a covered injury or illness to the nearest appropriate medical facility to receive care and get you home after treatment.

BAGGAGE LOSS, DAMAGE, or THEFT
