PROGRAM PURPOSE
The desired outcome is that attendees will adopt the stated learning objectives to improve their professional practice.
A series of Pulmonary Diseases from COPD and Asthma to Sarcoid and Immunodeficiency will be presented. There are new guidelines for both Asthma and COPD. Sarcoid and Immunodeficiency are not uncommon but are missed frequently.
The Critical Care lectures will be on Community-acquired Pneumonia which is one of the most common infections in humans. New guidelines came out late last year. Attendees will be able to treat these using the most up to date guidelines. Ethics will be taught in the manner of case reports. Both on the treatment of patients, their families and our colleagues. Ventilator Associated Pneumonia also has quite recent guidelines. Attendees will know how to prevent, treat and for how long to treat the pneumonia. The controversies surrounding Vitamin C and steroids in Septic Shock and Fluid resuscitation in Septic Shock will be discussed. Attendees will have a better idea of these.

- Be up to date with 2019 Guidelines including the treatment of Severe Asthma and Uncontrolled Asthma
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Be up to date with the new 2020 guidelines in the diagnosis and treatment of COPD
- Sarcoid
- Attendees will have a new approach to the diagnosis, Treatment of Sarcoid and know the Multiple drugs for Sarcoid
- Immunodeficiency (ID)
- Attendees will be able to treat Primary ID, Common ID and Variable ID. Learn diagnosis, treatment and asses cases.
- Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP)
- Attendees will be able to prevent , diagnose and treat VAP according to new guidelines
- Ethics
- The Attendees will hear cases and I will ask their opinions. They may also present their own cases.
- Vit C, Steroids Fluid Resuscitation in Septic Shock.
- Attendees will be aware of Septic Shock controversies surrounding the use of Vit C and Steroids and fluid resuscitation
- Community-acquiredPneumonia (CAP)
- Attendees will learn to diagnose, treat according to new guidelines. Also who to admit to hospital or even the ICU.
