Program Purpose / Objectives
Session 1: Prosthodontic concepts for Implant, Esthetic, and Reconstructive Dentistry (3 hours)

Overview:
Concepts in restoration of cases involving the mutilated dentition or just one non-restorable tooth requires a clear understanding of basic prosthodontic concepts. Osseointegrated dental implants have become an integral component of treatment plans and their use in dental rehabilitation is critical in contemporary dentistry .

This course is ideal for the clinician who wants to become more familiar with prosthodontic concepts and techniques involving treatment planning and restoration of cases for improved function and esthetics.

Course Objectives: At the end of the session, participants will be familiarized with:
  • Diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Evaluation of the mutilated dentition
  • Treatment sequence and prosthesis design
  • Procedure techniques
  • Occlusal scheme, vertical dimension, and tooth position for successful outcomes
Session 2 : The Road to Predictable Implant Restorations: (3 hours)

Overview:
It is a well-known fact that implants have been the most prominent breakthrough in modern dentistry, revolutionizing the way we plan, manage and execute patient care and treatment; however, due to several structural and conceptual differences between implants and natural teeth, implant prosthesis have proven to be more technique sensitive and require additional training.
This course is ideal for the clinician who either already practices fixed implant dentistry or is introducing it into the practice. The course focuses on principals, complications, trouble-shooting and prevention.

Course Objectives: At the end of the course the participants should be familiar with:
  • Diagnosis, treatment planning, and restorative principals in implant dentistry
  • Biomechanical considerations concerning implants
  • Most common complications and how to avoid them
  • Occlusion in implant dentistry
  • How to increase predictability and patient satisfaction
Session 3: The Art and Science of Implant-supported Overdentures (3 hours)

Overview:
Meeting the demands imposed by many patients, the implant overdenture has become that standard of care for the edentulous mandible (McGill Consensus Statement on Overdentures 2002). Thus, the importance and the necessity of incorporating implant-supported prosthesis, particularly in the mandible, is clearly apparent; however, techniques and considerations involved in the field can make the execution challenging.

This course is ideal for the clinician who wants to become more familiar with the concepts and techniques involving treatment planning and fabrication of implant-supported overdentures to gain more confidence and become more comfortable in incorporating this type of prosthesis into his/her practice.

Course objectives: At the end of the session, participants will be familiarized with:
  • Diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Treatment sequence and prosthesis design
  • Procedure techniques
  • Different implant restorative components involved
  • Incorporating and activating the implant attachment into the denture
Conference Sessions generally take place on days at sea (as itinerary allows), giving you plenty of time to enjoy your meals, evenings and ports of call with your companion, family and friends.

TravelSafe.comPlease visit TravelSafe.com for travel insurance information.

Cruise Line cancellation policies are strictly enforced. For that reason, we urge all of our travelers to carefully consider whether travel insurance is a good value for them.

Certainly, if you have reason to think that "something might come up" that might force you to cancel, travel insurance is worth the cost of the premium. Examples we've seen in the past include ill or frail family members and changes in employment causing relocation.

If travel insurance is the right choice for you, we recommend TravelSafe. To visit their site and explore your options click here or on the link above. The cruise lines also offer travel insurance and we'd be happy to help you go that route if you'd prefer.
