Dr. Eileen L. Kalmar is a Clinical Associate Professor Emeritus in the Department of Biomedical Education and Anatomy at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She earned her doctorate in Neurobiology and Anatomy from the University of Rochester in New York. Throughout her academic career, Dr. Kalmar has taught anatomy, histology, embryology, and neuroanatomy across undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels. Her educational leadership encompasses medical and dental student curricula, advanced head and neck anatomy for dental residents, graduate anatomy education, and continuing professional development. In addition, she has designed and directed numerous innovative head and neck anatomy continuing education courses for practicing medical and dental healthcare professionals.
During her tenure at Ohio State, Dr. Kalmar served as Director for Anatomy Dental Education and Director of the university's Body Donation Program. Recognized for her sustained pedagogical excellence and dedication to anatomical education, she is the recipient of numerous teaching accolades, including the College of Medicine Distinguished Educator Award.
